Home Kalon (Minister) of the Central Tibetan Administration, Gyari Dolma, expressed her support for the incumbent Sikyong Lobsang Sangay for re-election.
According to a video circulated on the Facebook, Dolma says, the Kashag works with collective responsibility. This point counters former Kalon Dicki Chhoyang’s allegation of lack of teamwork in Kashag.
Dicki Chhoyang resigned as the Minister of the Department of Information and International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration on 28 February.
She resigned so that she could express her concerns about the on-going Tibetan election campaigns, as she would not be able to publicly express her personal opinions while serving as a Kalon.
Later she released a statement and stated in interviews that she felt Lobsang Sangay lacked the qualities to be a Sikyong.
Gyari Dolma in her statement said that during the campaigns, Sikyong Sangay speaks about his future visions, but more important is to look at his achievements in the past four and half years.
“As a Kalon in the current Kashag, I have full support for him,” Dolma said.
“The current Kashag has initiated many important projects. Some have been completed and there are others that are being continued.”
Speaking about the ongoing election campaigns, she said, “There are many positive things that I could feel proud of, as well as others that make me feel sad in the campaigns.”
She said that she has no complaints about Penpa Tsering, but there is a rule that says a Sikyong could be elected for two consecutive terms.
“There must be a reason for that. I, therefore, feel that it will be useful if Lobsang Sangay gets re-elected.”
To a question to Sikyong candidate Penpa Tsering during a press conference about Gyari Dolma’s support for Lobsang Sangay on Wednesday, he said, “If she expressed her support to Lobsang Sangay in her personal capacity outside of office hours, she could do so.”
“I know why Gyari Dolma is endorsing Lobsang Sangay.”
“I know why Gyari Dolma is endorsing Lobsang Sangay.” — Penpa Tsering
Is it so that she can prepare for her run for Sikyong in 2021? And in order for that to happen, she will have to sit out of the next term from Kashag. So with Kungoe Tempa la retiring from Delhi Dhonchoe, Gyari Dolma needs Sikyong to appoint her as the Representative in New Delhi Bureau office.
Maybe this is the reason, if so she is very calculating but unfortunately her math is very simple.
Good Luck Gyari Dolma, let’s hope your math pays off.
Yes, it should be like that. You all as a team did very well during this term of kashag. You deserve the next term for continuation. thanks
1. Being the origin of the project prepared with Parliamentarians in December 2014, I confirm the project was blocked during her visit in December 2014, and you can believe me and you can also ask to Lady Chhoyang,
2. Sponsorship Campaign Tibetan Towns by French Towns
— Strong support. by Senators, Mayors, and Deputies.
The preservation of the names of Tibetan towns by French towns.
It is important that political support for Tibet will not remain in the shadows, and it’s important it be on the CTA website.
The work of Lady Chhoyang remains a mystery
It really pains me to see people accusing each other for doing nothing during Dicki la’s tenure in office. I am not sure whether we should believe Kunga Lhamo, for making such unkind remarks against Kasur Dicki Chhoyang la. I think Dicki la can defend her stand and issue strong rebuttal to explain things in her own way. If she is found to be inefficient and inept by someone responsible in CTA, then why was she allowed to remain in office until her resignation?
I feel that most views expressed here are biased and found untrue.
I have no objection on either candidates and I wish them all the best, but I wish both Sikyong candidates would know that they are fighting for Sikyong in which the matters of Tibet and Tibetan people always come first. Whatever problem they have, they can have dialogue and resolve the problem rather than clashing egos and going into personal matters like Indian politicians.
About Dickyi Chhoyang, i still feel that she came to work for Tibetan government in exile just to fill up her CV. At least she should complete the tenure because Tibetan government in exile is not a hotel or private home, it has the responsibility of Tibetan people living inside Tibet, Nepal, and India. These people are suffering most, so she shouldn’t accept the post from the beginning if she couldn’t complete her tenure, I hope in near future other candidates will not follow in her footsteps.
Concerning lady Dicki Chhoyang:
1. “The one the house of which is of glass has to be careful not to throw stones to the other.”
2. Lady Dicki blocked a Parliamentary project in December 2014.
* A Parliamentary project concerning the issue of Tibet and project who can stop Self-immolations, a project which can help the visit of His Holiness in Mount Wutai and in Tibet.
3. She has never put the sponsorship Campaign Tibetan cities by French cities on the CTA website — Campaign made by Senators, Mayors, and Deputies, and by Robert Thurman. 73 Tibetans cities sponsored by 73 French towns. Requests made repeatedly during her mandate as Minister of Foreign Affairs. It is important for the communication of Tibet; it’s a strong support.
I don’t know for whom she worked during this period, but I felt that she did not work for Tibetans inside Tibet, she did not work for Tibetans in exile, and she did not work for His Holiness.
She is not good for Lobsang Sangay and for Penpa Tsering, she is not good for Tibetans inside Tibet, she is not good for Tibetans in exile, she is not good for His Holiness.
Your vote does not have to take into account the words of Dicki Chhoyang ,
Tibet needs unity. The present and future of Tibet needs the two: Lobsang Sangay and Penpa Tsering in the new Government for complementary good work.
