Final preparations are being made in Bloomington and Indianapolis for this week’s visit from the Dalai Lama.

The 74-year-old Buddhist leader is staying at the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Centre in Bloomington and will hold teachings Wednesday and Thursday at the Indiana University Auditorium.

The director of the centre, Arjia Rinpoche, says they built a new building called a Mane Khorlo to house special prayer wheels prior to the Dalai Lama’s arrival.

The site also has two tent-like building that will eventually be used as classrooms beside the Mane Khorlo.

The Nobel Peace Prize laureate is also planning a public talk at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Friday. It will focus on facing life’s challenges and is open to people from all different religious backgrounds.
