A high level Chinese delegation led by Hao Peng, executive deputy director of Tibetan Autonomous Region, held talks with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at his official residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu on Wednesday morning.File photo/Reuters/Punit Paranjpe/India A high-level Chinese delegation led by Tibetan Autonomous Region’s deputy chairperson Hao Peng today met top Nepalese leaders and expressed Beijing’s concern over the slow pace of the peace process in the country. The 10-member delegation, which is currently in Nepal on a four day goodwill visit, met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala and Maoist chief Prachanda and discussed among others political situation, economic cooperation and Tibetan issues with them. During the meetings, the delegation enquired about the latest political developments in Nepal and expressed China’s concern on the slow pace of peace process and on the process of drafting the constitution, according to Foreign Ministry officials here. The Chinese delegation also enquired about the activities of the Tibetan exiles in Nepal, it said. The delegation also discussed issues relating to resumption of Kathmand-Lhasa bus service and showed interest in Nepal’s various development endeavours. During the meeting between Prime Minister Nepal and the delegation, Madhav Nepal reiterated Nepal’s one China policy and assured that his country will not allow any activities directed against China from its soil.
