The Dalai Lama will visit Slovakia between 8-10 September, and will receive a human rights award there, according to Slovakia Today website.

The Dalai Lama will receive the Jan Langos Award for Human Rights from the Jan Langos Foundation.

The award will be presented on Wednesday morning at the Pavol Orszagh Hviezdoslav Theatre in Bratislava, the capital of the Slovak Republic.

Marian Varga, a renowned Slovak musician, composer and organ player, will present a musical composition during the ceremony.

On the same day, the Dalai Lama will deliver a public speech, and will answer questions of his own choosing from the audience.

But for representatives of the opposition, no government officials are expected to attend the ceremony, although the foundation has invited representatives from both the sides to take part.

The Foundation in the past presented the award to Velvet Revolution protagonist Fedor Gal, while last year’s awards went to former Hungarian president Arpad Goncz, and posthumously to Greek-Catholic bishop Pavol Gojdic.
