Officials say Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek met with the Dalai Lama during the exiled Tibetan leader’s three-day visit to Prague.

Topolanek’s press office says the meeting late Sunday was “private” and lasted for about one hour.

The Dalai Lama said at a news conference Monday that he was visiting Prague on the invitation of former Czech President Vaclav Havel and has no political agenda for the trip.

The Dalai Lama is under pressure from China not to meet with world’s leaders.

China pulled out of a China-EU summit last week because French President Nicolas Sarkozy plans to meet with the Dalai Lama in Poland on Dec. 9.
