Dalai Lama leaves for Delhi for checkup

The Dalai Lama left for Delhi for a follow-up medical checkup, after hospitalisation with abdominal pains more than a month ago. Dctors attending him at that time said there was no cause for concern about his health, but that he needed rest. He was discharged four days later.

After taking rest for a month, the Dalai Lama undertook teaching sessions last week in Dharamshala, but trips to Germany and Switzerland this month were cancelled.

“His Holiness is going to Delhi for a follow-up medical checkup. There is no cause for worry,” the Dalai Lama’s secretary Tenzin Taklha told Tibet Sun.

The Dalai Lama is schedule to travel to Japan in the first week of November.
