The Dalai Lama said that the way Tibetan culture has flourished and extended around the world today, this could be termed the “golden age” of Tibetan culture.

However, he stressed the need of modern education alongside the traditional among Tibetans, particularly in the monastic community.

He urged the monastic community not to deviate from education, nor to be distracted by materialism.

The Dalai Lama was speaking during the occasion of the long-life puja offered by the Kham Nangchen community.

“I have recovered well from the recent abdominal illness. The offering of the puja was well-timed,” he said.
